Arturo Fuente cigars are consistently rated among the best cigars in the world. Their reputation for unsurpassed quality, with both flavour and construction, has amassed a loyal following among cigar connoisseurs.

In 2012, the Fuente companies celebrated 100 years of hard work, dedication and family tradition. When the Fuente companies was established in 1912, Arturo Fuente would have never dreamed his passion for cigars would become a global benchmark for the cigar industry.

From the very beginning the focus of making a Fuente cigar was quality: quality tobacco, quality craftsmanship, and taking the time necessary to make a truly remarkable cigar. "We don't hurry thing; we just do things the way they are supposed to be done." says Carlos Fuente Sr.

DON CARLOS

Named in honour of its legendary creator and Fuente family patriarch Don Carlos Fuente, Sr., Arturo Fuente Don Carlos cigars are one of the world's most finest smokes.

To create this masterpiece, Carlos Fuente, Sr. blended together rare, vintage tobaccos that were hand selected and aged as much as 10 years. These cigars are rich and flavourful, with flawless African Cameroon wrappers, making them as appealing to the eye as they are to the palate.

Because of the select tobacco required, these cigars are among the finest cigars rolled at Tabacalera A. Fuente in the Dominican Republic. In every way possible, Carlos Fuente, Jr. strives to attain the ultimate in rich flavour, flawless wrapper colour and superior construction in every cigar that bears his fathers name.

I was fairly reluctant to trying this cigar as I have only been smoking cigars since Christmas as my brother finally persuaded me to try it (Fell in love with my first Fonseca). Have smoked many different cigars since then (Cohiba, Montecristo etc.) So was tempted to try something a little fuller and stronger. Needless to say, the cigar was beautiful and smelled nutty with hints of sweetness. I was eager to light it up. However, it seemed to burn slightly unevenly and found myself turning the cigar to keep it level. Towards the end of the smoke it became extremely strong and after many attempts, had to leave it with around an inch and a half left to smoke due to being too strong for me to enjoy. Overall, I believe an experienced cigar smoker would have enjoyed this much more than myself but still rating 4* due to the delight I had while enjoying this smoke and will try again in the future.

The 'go to Cigar' for me. If money was no object I would smoke one everyday. If your smoking time is few and far between and you need to guarantee a great smoke, pick up a 'Don Carlos No.2' The construction and burn is beautiful. The draw is easy, full of creamy smoke. After the first third, the full flavors emerge. nutty/cocoa notes with a hint of spice and wood. There is a pleasant hit of tobacco, which just makes for a fantastic hour of smoking. Thank you Cgarsltd for stocking these beautiful cigars, if only you had a store/lounge closer to me I would be in everyday.

I bought a trio of these beautiful cigars based on an article about the Arturo Fuente family that I read in a well known Cigar magazine and that a few well known Hollywood stars seemed to smoke them by choice, which is usually a good recommendation. I put them away for 5-6 months in my humidor and today was just right to give one an outing, beautiful sunshine, no wind and peace & quiet. Now I'm new to smoking, have never touched a cigarette in fact the only thing I've smoked before taking up this whole cigar business is Trout over a campfire! Wow, it was a beautiful smoke, wonderful construction, perfect draw and the burn from start to finish was as good as it gets! Flavours were really ideal for me at this stage, creamy and coffee with the slightest liquorice taste mixed in on the finish. It never got harsh or bitter, stayed lit despite a few 3 or 4 minute phone calls and kept its ash for an inch and a half at least every time! The description on the website is spot on, I will definitely be buying more. Hope this helps you to try one or more!!
